Cycling Gear / Re: Garmin Edge 500

Don't have any of the Edge units myself, but I have used Garmin's GSC10 sopeed/cadence sensor with my Forerunner 610 when cycling.  (GSC10 can also be paired with the Edge units).

You may want to check out DC Rainmaker's site if you haven't already...he does some crazy in-depth reviews of run/bike/swim/fitness gadgets, often with good tips to be found in the write-ups and comments.  Here's a link to the Edge 500 review:  http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2009/12/garmin-edge-500-in-depth-review.html

Does anyone use a Garmin Edge 500?  I received one as a gift and will be trading out my Cateye V3.  Do you have any tips?

My computer listed 42 miles with a avg speed of 16.1mph...  I would have needed an anemometer to give a true sense of the headwind we saw most of the day.  All-in-all, it was a great ride and I'm looking forward to the next one.

I've seen riders get off their street bikes, pick them up, walk across three feet of grass (no curb mind you) then remount.  :)

I have a registration for the Outlaw Trail 100 (female) that's free to a good home, I will be picking up the packet this week.  My partner is unable to attend, she's on an extended road trip.
